Tencent (Changsha) Intelligent Industry Headquarters to Locate in Xiangjiang New Area

On November 28, the Changsha Municipal People’s Government and Shenzhen Tencent Computer System Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation framework agreement. In the future, the two sides will jointly promote the integration of artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and urban governance, and people's livelihood. It was aimed to build Changsha into a smart city demonstration zone and help its industrial internet development. Hu Henghua, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Standing Committee member and CPC Changsha Municipal Committee secretary; and Tang Daosheng, senior executive vice president of Tencent, and president of Tencent Cloud and Smart Industries Group, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. Other municipal leaders, Zhang Yingchun, Xia Jianping, and Qiu Jixing; and Vice President of Tencent, Zhang Shuxiang also attended.

Tencent is one of the largest comprehensive Internet service providers in China. At the signing ceremony, Tencent signed an agreement with the Changsha Municipal People's Government, the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, and Changsha Municipal E-Government Office respectively.

The agreement states that Tencent (Changsha) Intelligent Industry will locate its headquarters in Xiangjiang New Area, Hunan, where they will operate Tencent cloud and intelligent industry business; and provide solutions and services for creating localized intelligent applications.

Tencent will also set up Yunqi Research Institute to establish intelligent technology R&D cluster, and build Tencent Artificial Intelligence Institute, training bases, and Tencent Yunqi (Changsha) Base projects together with universities in Changsha.

The signing of this agreement will promote the integration of Changsha’s mobile Internet in the fields of industrial development, government governance, and the people’s livelihood; inject new impetus into Changsha’s economy; and bring convenience to Changsha people.
