7 Changsha Industrial Parks Included in Provincial Demonstration Parks

Recently, the Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Hunan Provincial Department of Finance published a list of the province's characteristic projects to strengthen agriculture in 2018.

Seven characteristic industrial parks in Changsha are on the list and approved as the “2018 Hunan Provincial Modern Agricultural Characteristic Industrial Demonstration Park”. They are:
-Modern Seed Industry-Hybrid Rice Seed Production Industrial Park, Jingzhou County, Furong District;
-Yiqingyuan Organic Tea Characteristic Industrial Park, Changsha County;
-Yanyu Tea Industrial Park, Ningxiang City;
-Yunyou Tea Industrial Park, Wangcheng District;
-Zengshi Pig Industrial Park, Ningxiang City;
-Jincheng Water Town Crayfish Industrial Park, Wangcheng District; and
-Fengxiang Agriculture Zhongshan Crayfish Breeding Industrial Park, Wangcheng District.

In accordance with the principles of openness, fairness, and impartiality, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Department of Finance jointly organized an on-site campaign to verify and review projects applied by various cities and prefectures. The establishment of 80 provincial modern agricultural characteristic industrial demonstration parks; 4 demonstration bases for the supply of high-quality agricultural and sideline products (demonstration areas); and 7 Hunan modern agricultural characteristic industrial clusters (provincial modern agricultural industrial parks), was approved.

The Department of Finance will provide a support fund of 1 million yuan for each of the provincial modern agricultural characteristic industrial demonstration parks. The fund will be used for the cultivation of characteristic brands; the improvement of agricultural product quality; the integrated development of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries in rural areas; the commercialization of research findings; and the improvement of industrial parks’ infrastructure.
