Hunan’s First “Cloud Computing-CGA” Launched in Changsha
On the morning of November 7, Hunan’s First “Cloud Computing-Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA)” was launched in Changsha.
The Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) aims to maximize the elderly’s functional level and life quality. In line with the implementation of the “holistic medical treatment” concept, it adopts multidisciplinary approaches to assess the elderly’s physical health, functional status, mental health, and social environment; formulate and launch treatment plans aimed at protecting their health and functional status. Compared with ordinary physical examinations, it puts more emphasis on the elderly’s overall health and disease management. This helps to better understand their comprehensive situation; provide specific treatment plans and suggestions for social environment improvement; improve their life quality; and reduce medical costs and other related expenses.
The assessment system includes four modules: basic information; functional assessment; geriatric syndrome; and sociological assessment. After the data is collected and uploaded to the cloud server, an evaluation report is automatically generated. Medical staff can organize multidisciplinary teams for consultation and implement comprehensive intervention according to the evaluation results.
The current hospital version is open to medical institutions only. The elderly who need to be assessed can go to the medical institutions qualified for evaluation. The evaluation can be completed within 1 hour, and the evaluation report can be obtained after data collection.
