China (Hunan)-Germany Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference Opens
On October 7-9, China (Hunan)-Germany Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference (Conference) was held in Xiangjiang New Area of Hunan Province. More than 30 representatives of German enterprises attended the Conference. They discussed R&D and cooperation potential between Hunan and Germany in the sectors of intelligent manufacturing and automobiles.
Many leaders attended the Conference, they are:
Zhang Yingchun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and director of the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Management Committee;
Li Zhijian, deputy secretary and deputy director of Hunan Economic and Information Technology Leading Party Group;
Qiu Jixing, deputy mayor of Changsha Municipal People’s Government;
Luo Shehui, Liu Zhongjie and Ling Qinjie, member of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Administrative Committee of Xiangjiang New Area of Hunan Province; and,
Christian Zurbruggen, president of Zurbruggen Furniture Goup.
At present, Germany has become Hunan's largest trading partner in Europe. In 2017, the total import and export trade between Hunan and Germany reached 1.194 billion US dollars. In recent years, bilateral trade between Changsha and Germany has grown steadily. The two-way investment has become increasingly active. From January to August 2018, German-funded enterprises invested a total of 198 million US dollars in Changsha. The bilateral trade volume between the two sides was 534 million US dollars, an increase of 45.95% compared with the previous year. Large German-funded enterprises represented by Bosch, Volkswagen, Siemens, Metro and Zurbruggen have located and developed in Changsha. Changsha’s enterprises such as Sany Heavy Industry and Zoomlion have also invested in Germany.
