Rural Left-behind Children Starts Summer Camp in Changsha

The “Caring for Rural Left-behind Children” Summer Camp kicked off at the Hunan Forest Botanical Garden on the morning of July 28, 2018. Forty-eight left-behind children from rural families in Fenghuang, Yizhang, and Xintian counties will join hands with children from Changsha city, to spend 4 days together. The event was hosted by the Hunan Youth Activity Center and the Hunan Youth Palace Association; and undertaken by the Changsha Primary and Secondary School Psychological Quality Outward Bound Training Base and the Beira Town.
 
They will participate in outdoor development activities; visit the Hunan Exhibition Hall of the CPC History and the Lei Feng Memorial Hall; join in military training; and, have a thanksgiving education class, to share learning methods and joy of growth; exchange life experiences; and, show their personalities and talents.

 At the opening ceremony, the Hunan Youth Activity Center presented gifts such as school bags to left-behind children. Zhang Jianjun, director of the Hunan Youth Activity Center and president of the Hunan Youth Palace Association, said that it is an unshirkable responsibility for the whole society to care for this group of children. “I hope more capable and loving units and individuals will participate in the campaign. Let’s actively fulfill our responsibility for the society,” he added.
