19th Hunan Cultural Relics International Exposition Kicks off

The 19th Hunan Cultural Relics International Exposition (the cultural expo) is being held in Changsha between March 13 and 18, 2018. More than 3,000 exhibitors and 50,000 collectors from home and abroad attended. 

The cultural expo is sponsored by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and the Hunan Bureau of Cultural Relics, and it is themed “Meeting in charming Hunan and sharing amazing cultural expo.” There are five major activities, namely, the private collections private trade fair, the ceremony of private collectors donating cultural relics to state-owned museums, the National Cultural Relics Communication, the jade appreciation academic lectures, and the cultural relics and arts collection for Rong Bao Zhai (Guilin) 2018 Changsha Spring Auction. 

The National Cultural Relics Communication, known as the “OTC Trade Fair” in the cultural relics circle, will be held at the Hunan Provincial Cultural Relics Store between March 16 and 18, with 430 booths. 

Besides, the ceremony of private collectors donating cultural relics to state-owned museums was initiated. The Hunan Provincial Cultural Relics Store and 4 private collectors donated 121 pieces (sets) of cultural relics to the Zhuzhou Museum, the Xiangtan Museum, and the Longping Rice-themed Museum free of charge, including the painted pottery in the Warring States Period and the Han-era iron farming tools. There are 3 third-class cultural relics at national level.
