Aother inspection port for imported meat in Hunan approved
According to Hunan Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the Inspection Port of Hunan (Hongxing) Imported Meat is on the renewed list of appointed ports and inspection ports for imported meat released by the General Administration of Quality Supervsion, Inspection and Quarantine of China. The port is approved to import meat, making it another open platform in Hunan.
The annual inspective capacity of the port can amount to 157,000 tons. It is expected to inspect the first batch of imported frozen meat after the Spring Festival. The operation of the port is estimated to reduce the cost of the transfer and customs transit of imported meat by 25,000 to 2,800 RMB per ton.
The establishment of the port is an important step by the General Administration to support the open development of inland and the transfer of port to the inland. Chenglingji Port was previously the only appointed port of imported meat in Hunan. It has imported a total of 7,000 tons of frozen meat.
