On Sept 24, Kaifu Avenue fully opened to traffic, which means that a direct access from Railway South in the old district of Changsha to Wantian International in Wangchen District via Si Fangping, River Laodao and Lake Qingzhu has been built. Kaifu Avenue, therefore, has emerged as another main traffic artery that connect Wangcheng District with Furong North in the east of the city.
Kaifu Avenue in Kaifu District is 8.51 kilometers long and 46 meters wide with a 2-way street of 8 lanes running from Lao Daohe Bridge in south, through Su Tuoyuan Ecological New Town and Gaoling Commercial and Trading Center to Third Ring Road in north. Plus the former Che Zhanbei Road, the total length of the Kaifu Avenue has reached 16.29 kilometers. As the main north-south traffic artery newly built in the old district of Changsha, the full opening of Kaifu Avenue will alleviate the traffic pressure on the Furong North，achieve the integration between Jinxia Economic Development Zone, Su Tuoyuan Ecological New Town and the old district, and thus promote the north-south integration in northern Changsha.
