Robots inspection debut in Hunan ports
According to Hunan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau on May 17, Hunan, recently, has employed robots to carry out port inspection work. With the help of robots, checking on single container can be completed within three minutes.
In recent days, Hunan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has for the first time employed robots to check on containers of imported mineral products in Changsha XiaNing Port . Inspection and quarantine personnel operated one-armed robots 30 meters away with long distance control. Revolving around the container through radiating, the personnel checked computer real-time detector data and operated robots to continue the procedure.
Inspection result showed that robots are capable of checking on container port, and finishing the inspection on single container within three minutes. It is good not only for improving standardization and efficiency of inspection work, but also for preventing on-site operator from radiation by accident, especially when checking on imported mineral products containers.
The robot, Sawyer, operating with high performance, can work together with human beings. In possession of series elastic brake, embedded vision system and extensible artificial intelligence platform, Sawyer can adapt to constant changes of actual environment just like human beings, change applications rapidly and work in a safer, more precise and more flexible way. After a set of security and risk assessment, it can cooperate with human beings in close range without fence protection to do work of high risks, high repeatability and high precision.
