Products Made in Changsha aim for overseas markets by Hunan-Euro Express
Newly-added “Fast track” has continued to provide more accesses to international markets for Hunan products. According to Changsha Jinxia Economic Development Zone, after opening international freight trains heading to Germany, Poland, Russia and the Republic of Belarus, Hunan XiangOu Express Logistics Co., Ltd. in the zone plans to open international freight trains heading to Hungary and Vietnam. By then, Hunan products can be exported to Hungary and Vietnam directly.
Reportedly, “Hunan-Euro Express” has a strong development momentum after normalized operation over a year. In 2016, “Hunan-Euro Express” has imported and exported 173000 tons commercial goods worth $493 million in total. In the report on work of Hunan Provincial Government in 2017, Changsha will be built into an important channel for opening up from inland of China to international metropolis. “Hunan-Euro Express” will contribute to this and boost the development of export-oriented economy in Hunan.
The international logistic network has been basically formed by taking Changsha as its core
The upcoming Hungary freight trains will start from Changsha new north railway station(Xia’Ning station), and arrive in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. It runs 14 days for the whole journey. The freight train heading to Vietnam will arrive in Hanoi, the whole journey lasts about 4 days.
The general manager of Hunan XiangOu Express Logistics Co., Ltd. Xia Zhaohui noted that Hungary freight train mainly specializes in Xiang products such as shoes, hats while Vietnam freight train mainly specializes in building materials, daily commodities. With these two international freight trains opening to traffic, Xia’Ning station (international inland port center in central China) as it platform, “Hunan-Euro Express” (named as “China-Euro Express” placed by the state) as brand, the railway international channel will be extended to ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), Central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the domestic main channel will be extended to Southern China and Eastern China, which has basically formed the international logistic network featuring Changsha as its core and radiating neighbouring areas. It will play an important role in the opening up and rising of Hunan province.
Liuyang fireworks are destined for Euro markets
The opening of “Hunan-Euro Express” breaks the bottleneck of international channels in Hunan. In the past, the international transportation relied on ships and cars by transferring at Shanghai and Guangdong, the connected transportation mode is obviously unable to meet the demand of export-oriented economy development in Hunan.
Compared with maritime transport, because of the fast speed, “Hunan-EuroExpress” is becoming the first choice of exporting high value-added products despite of its relatively higher cost. Xia Zhaohui said that the same batch of goods from Changsha to Duisburg in Germany consumed nearly two months by maritime transport in the past.
Nowadays, it only costs 16 days to arrive in the destination through “Hunan-Euro Express”
Since the normalized operation of “Hunan-Euro Express”, it has achieved a smooth and steady growth in business. Products exported by “Hunan-Euro Express” are mainly electronic products, ceramics, tea products, clothes, machinery accessories, chemicals, textiles, food, medical equipment, steel and etc. For example, engineering machinery accessories produced by SANY, electronic screen by LENS Technology and Xiang embroidery by Sunpeak Construction sell overseas through “Hunan-Euro Express”. Imported goods flooding into Changsha through returning journey are currently availabe at Jinxia Bonded Stores.
From January to March in 2017, “Hunan-Euro Express” has exported and imported 45700 tons goods worth $89 million, among which goods for European markets consume 19 trains and 39900 tons worth$79 million, 11800 tons worth $ 10 million in returning journey.
“Hunan-Euro Express” has accelerated the pace of intergrating into world economy for the capital city Changsha, Hunan Province and neighbouring provinces. In the near future, Liuyang fireworks are expected to reach the European market by this international trains and the shipping time will be shortened by one month than now. Xia said that the second phase of Changsha Xia’Ning goods cargo fields being planned covers up nearly 100 acres of lands and will be used for the first-class port construction. After the upgrading of the port, there will be more and more varieties of Changsha products and Xiang products heading for Central Asia and European markets via “Hunan-Euro Express”.
