118 parks to be built in Changsha
Changsha is brimming with vigor and vitality in March. Raindrops falling on petals, camellias swaying in air, and Magnolias in bud are showcased at Xianfeng Cultural Park on Furong South Road, Tianxin District, where the seniors go for a walk, have a chat and do morning exercise leisurely.
“It is a five-minute walk from our community to the park. It features fresh air and beautiful scenery,” said Liu Yigui, a resident in Furong Jiayuan Community. When speaking of the park near the house, she had a big smile on her face. Pointing to the Exercise Plaza, Liu Yigui said: “Here used to be illegal buildings, which have been torn down and replaced by clusters of flowers and grassland. Neighbors usually come to this pretty park for physical exercises.”
“Citizens have a closer contact with grassland and parks, which are only 300 meters and 500 meters away from home respectively.” Such a great and noticeable change can be attributed to the fact that Changsha is engaged in building “a city with thousands of parks”.
