Internet Plus makes never-ending agriculture fair

The ongoing agriculture fair in Changsha allows visitors to enjoy a shopping spree with a smartphone instead of a shopping cart.

 

The Central China (Hunan) International Agriculture Fair is being held in Changsha Hongxing International Convention Center from Nov 18 and will last till 24. The organizers have launched along with the fair a mobile e-commerce platform "Hand-held Agricultural Fair", turning the entity display event into everlasting O2O interactions.

 

The online platform also offers efficient home delivery service so that residents of Changsha's urban area will get their orders within 24 hours.

More than 1,000 enterprises from home and abroad are attending the fair in an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters. Apart from agricultural products from Central China provinces, those from Heilongjiang, Xinjiang, Yunnan and Taiwan, as well as foreign specialties made in countries such as Spain, Russia, and Vietnam are being displayed at the center.

 

Xu Hongyuan, deputy Party chief of Changsha said that the fair, since its inception 17 years ago has grown into a significant bond to connect the rural areas with a much wider market. It functions as an important venue to promote the agricultural development achievements, he added.

Hunan Vice-governor He Baoxiang said during the inauguration of the event that Hunan is both confident and determined to make the fair a platform for deepened regional exchange and cooperation. The vice-governor has added that the fair is a window to display the latest agricultural technology and products both home and abroad.

 

Hunan Agricultural Fair was initiated in 1999 and was upgraded as well as renamed as Central China (Hunan) International Agriculture Fair in 2009. Vice-Minister of Agriculture Chen Xiaohua hailed it as "an influential, high-level and popular national fair in agriculture field".
