Tianxin district initiates smart business with Tencent
The government of Tianxin district in Changsha reached an agreement with Tencent on June 2 to build the country’s first WeChat smart trading area.
The smart business circle, supported by the “smart shop” system developed by Shenzhen Shencan Technology, will cover Taiping Street, Pozi Street, Changsha Pedestrian Street, and the bar street in Changsha. Zhihui Tianxin, a public WeChat account, will function as a unified portal for the circle providing online services such as WeChat payment, electronic coupons, and sales promotions.
“The building of the Tianxin smart business circle is an innovative move to promote the transformation of traditional industries under the ‘Internet Plus' development strategy,” said Zeng Chaoquan, the Party chief of Tianxin district. Zeng added that the district will continue to lend major support to Internet industries and provide high-quality services and a favorable development environment.
At present, 10 stores in the area have completed the “smart” transformation and the number will grow to 100 before August. The smart WeChat platform will fully cover the Wuyi Business Circle, the CBD of Changsha, by the end of the year.
By then, visitors will be able to handle all the entertainment and consumption in the area by smart phone.
