High-speed rail connects Changsha with more cities
The Guangzhou Railway Group announced minor adjustments to the schedule in Changsha railway stations. Changsha South Railway Station will have high-speed rail trains to Chengdu, Chongqing, and Ningbo beginning next week.
Starting May 20, Changsha South Station will add five pairs of high-speed trains, including one from Changsha to Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province. The train, numbered G314/1 or G312/3, runs between Chengdu East Station and Guangzhou South Station. With stops in Changsha and Chongqing, it’s the first high-speed rail train connecting Changsha with Chongqing and Chengdu, two major cities in Southwest China.
It will take less than 11 hours from Changsha to Chengdu, six hours faster than current trains.
At the same time, train No G1411/4, originally from Changsha South to Hangzhou, will be extended to Ningbo in Zhejiang province. It marks the first through train between the two cities.
