Central China's Hunan Province on Tuesday reported a robust 46.2-percent surge of foreign trade in the first 11 months of 2019 to 392.35 billion yuan (about 56.4 billion U.S. dollars). The growth rate ranked first in the country during the period.

The Hunan Provincial Bureau of Statistics announced that, in November, the total retail sales of consumer goods across Hunan province reached 166.1 billion CNY, up 11% year on year. The growth is 1.8 percentage points faster than the same period last year.

Hunan’s foreign trade has maintained a rapid growth in 2019. According to the Changsha Customs, during the January-November period, Hunan’s imports and exports amounted to 392.35 billion CNY, a year-on-year growth of 46.3%. Exports rose 60.6% to 277.02 billion CNY, while exports grew 20.4% to 115.33 billion CNY.
