Changsha to Roll out 834 Municipal Projects This Year
On April 1, the Changsha Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau released a plan on municipal infrastructure projects in 2021. A total of 834 municipal projects will be rolled out this year, with an expected annual investment of 53.479 billion yuan.
The projects consist of 319 ongoing projects, 301 new projects, 156 preparatory projects and 58 projects under preliminary study. The total investment is 246.565 billion yuan. The annual investment in 2021 rose 10% year-on-year to 53.479 billion yuan. They involve urban roads, bridges and tunnels, public transport, landscape architecture, and municipal supporting projects.
This year, the Changsha government will focus on promoting the integrated development of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city cluster. It will accelerate the construction of projects including the Metro Line 6 East Extension, the Metro Line 7 Phase I, the Changsha Maglev East Extension Line, the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Rail Transit West Ring Line, the Hongqi Road South Extension Line, and the Xinshao South Road. It will complete such projects as the Furong Avenue Upgrading Project, the Shidai Yangguang Avenue East Extension and the Lujing Road South Extension.
The Changsha government will also coordinate efforts to advance municipal infrastructure construction in urban areas. It will press ahead with the construction of Muping Xiangjiang River Grand Bridge, Xiangluzhou Bridge, Xinglian Road River-crossing Passage, and Xiangya Road River-crossing Passage, to ensure that the Changwang Road West Extension Line and Xiaoxiang Avenue Section 3 are completed and opened to traffic this year. It will improve the road network and carrying capacity in key areas such as the free trade zone, Malanshan and Changsha West Railway Station.
