China-Europe Freight Trains via Changsha Hit Record High in 2020
The Central South China International Land Port Co., Ltd. announced on January 7 that, a record number of 528 China-Europe freight trains passed through Changsha in 2020, including 420 outbound trains and 108 inbound ones. This was an increase of 28.47% from 2019.
China-Europe freight trains via Changsha have actively participated in the global fight against the COVID-19 epidemic since 2020. A total of 46,410 standard containers were shipped, an increase of 27.70% from 2019. The value of goods totaled 2.061 billion dollars, up 98.58%, exceeding the annual target.
Changsha became one of the country’s only four cities with China-Europe freight trains operated daily during the epidemic. The China-Europe freight trains served the local economic, trade and industrial development, and advanced the construction of two-way circulation channels. “Star” China-Europe freight train lines achieved remarkable results. The number of lines from or to Russia ranked first in China. This effectively stabilized the province’s international trade channels and supply chains.
