16th China International Agricultural Trade Fair Kicks off
The 16th China International Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF) and the 20th Central China (Hunan) International Agriculture Fair was held at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center on November 1. The CATF will last for five days. The Global Agriculture South-South Cooperation Summit will also opened at the same period.
There are 12 exhibition areas set up at CATF featuring:
1. Rural revitalization;
2. Poverty alleviation;
3. Comprehensive exhibition at provincial (municipal and district) levels;
4. Cities (prefecture) across Hunan;
5. Industry professionals;
6. Brand agriculture;
7. Special industry;
9. Cross-strait agriculture cooperation;
10. International exhibition;
11. Outdoor modern agricultural equipment; and,
12. Comprehensive supporting service.
The CATF focused on the rural areas. It set up a rural revitalization exhibition for the first time. It aims to assist poverty alleviation through the production and marketing-matchmaking of local high-quality agricultural products in poverty-stricken areas. The “Changsha Declaration on Global Agriculture South-South Cooperation” will be released to promote Hunan’s agriculture to go global at the summit.
More than 16,000 kinds of agricultural products are being exhibited at the CATF. Over 200 foreign companies from more than 20 countries and regions including Uganda, Thailand, India, Malaysia, France and Ethiopia attended.
