Changsha Takes National Cultural Consumption Lead

The Changsha Cultural Consumption Pilot Summary and Results Promotion Conference was held on November 28. The conference announced that under the special supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Changsha’s cultural consumption pilot won the first national award, and Changsha took the lead in cultural consumption nationwide.
Changsha’s cultural industry reached 300 billion CNY last year, with an added value of 93 billion CNY. The per capita consumption expenditure of education, culture, and entertainment of urban residents in Changsha reached 6,378 CNY, an increase of 11.1% over last year, accounting for 18.4% of the total per capita consumption expenditure. City film total box office reached 700 million CNY for the first time, up 19.4% from last year accounting for 45.2% of the province’s box office, and more than three times as much as in 2013. Last year, Changsha’s investment in culture, sports, and entertainment was 27.97 billion CNY, up 31.9% from last year, far higher than the growth rate of the city’s fixed asset investment.
