An agreement was concluded between Hunan Xiangjiang New Area and 58.com, a website similar to Craigslist, on Sept 24, to locate the website's internet industrial park in the Hunan provincial capital.

According to the agreement, 58.com will relocate its southern settlement headquarters, crowd innovation base, 58 Daojia -- a mobile internet-based life services provider, and other related enterprises at the Xihu Culture Park for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, in the Yuelu Mountain National University Science Park.

The 100-million yuan project, covering a total area of 50,000 square meters, of which part will be put into operation by the end of this year, is expected to complete in 2018.

Zhang Yingchun, director of Xiangjiang New Area management committee said the agreement is the result of Changsha government's efforts to speed up the development of the internet industry and putting in place the innovation-driven strategies.

She added that the local government will provide comprehensive support to facilitate the construction of 58.com's industrial park.

Upon completion, the park will be a national-famous innovative industrial cluster relying on internet and related industries.
