Termination of Anti-dumping Measure against Methanol

Updated: 2015-12-26

On December 23, 2010, the Ministry of Commerce released the Announcement No. 91 of 2010, under which the Ministry of Commerce published the final award of the anti-dumping investigation of imports of methanol originated in Malaysia, Indonesia and New Zealand, and determined not to take the anti-dumping measure temporarily.

On January 20, 2015, the Ministry of Commerce released the Announcement No. 4 of 2015, informing relevant interested parties that the aforesaid anti-dumping measure would expire on December 23, 2015. From the date of release of this announcement to the time of 60 days before expiry of the anti-dumping measure, natural persons, legal persons or relevant organizations in the domestic industry or on behalf of the domestic industry can make an application for expiry review to the Ministry of Commerce in writing. In the period prescribed in the aforesaid announcement, the domestic methanol industry did not make an application for expiry review, so the Ministry of Commerce decides not to actively initiate expiry review investigation.

According to Article 48 of the Regulations on Anti-dumping, the Ministry of Commerce decides to terminate the anti-dumping measure against imports of methanol originated in Malaysia, Indonesia and New Zealand as of December 24, 2015.
