Startups revalued in Changsha High-Tech Zone

Updated: 2016-10-11

Changsha National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone has enjoyed new success, with the first 22 startups cultivated in Microsoft's cloud incubation platform now worth 300 million yuan ($45 million) after just six month's development.

Some 12 of the startups involved presented their achievements on Sept 25. Three teams engaged in developing mobile games have released their own products, with one game now ranking second in terms of the speed at which a game becomes popular among players.

The Microsoft cloud incubation platform was jointly founded by Microsoft and Changsha National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone to help startups working in the mobile Internet sector, such as mobile gaming and intelligent transportation systems. It provides office areas, facilities and free Microsoft resources for the startup companies.

The officials are satisfied with the achievements they have made and have vowed to give more support to startups that enter the incubation platform.

"Microsoft cloud incubation platform has attracted dozens of startups and encourages development momentum," said Mo Yiping, an official at Changsha National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

"With the advantages of Microsoft's brand and technology, we will continue to attract more innovative enterprises and help them with favorable policies and improved services," said Ma Ning, an official at the cloud incubation platform.
