Changsha high-tech zone sets annual target
Changsha's High-Tech Industrial Development Zone was ranked the 10th most innovative high tech zone in China, out of 106 contenders, according to the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The Changsha high-tech zone is seeking to build itself into a center for innovation and entrepreneurship with national influence, Changsha Evening News reported March 28.
The zone reaped a bumper crop of innovative achievements last year, with 2,328 enterprise patent licenses, 195 research centers and key laboratories approved, and more than 700 scientific and technological projects at or above municipal levels, according to the Hunan Daily.
In 2015, Changsha high-tech zone intends to boost mobile Internet commerce, hoping to introduce 1,000 new enterprises and with total incomes over 30 billion yuan ($4.84 billion). It also intends to improve advanced equipment manufacturing, environmental protection, electronics and communication, and informational technology, with a target of 100 billion yuan in income for each of these sectors.
