Changsha Delegation Attends 2018 UNESCO Creative Cities Network Global Forum
Changsha delegation was invited to participate in the 2018 UNESCO Creative Cities Network Global Forum between September 18 and 19. The forum was held in Daegu, South Korea, the “City of Music”. Nearly one hundred guests including the UNESCO “Creative Cities Network” member cities’ representatives, experts, and scholars attended. It aims to promote the sustainable development of creative cities in Asia and enhance interdisciplinary cooperation between cities.
Changsha Media and Art Development Center Director Liu Xinzhou delivered a speech on the theme of "Cooperation and Development of Asian Creative Cities" at the forum. He introduced the experience and practices of Changsha in building the “City of Media and Art”. He also analyzed the challenges and opportunities in the development of creative cities network, and the economic, industrial and willingness basis of creative cities cooperation. He proposed to deepen cooperation with other creative cities in many aspects, including establishing a communication platform, carrying out artist introduction plan, building industrial base, and promoting global fireworks display tour.
During the forum, Changsha delegation had friendly exchanges with representatives of cities such as South Korea’s Daegu; Japan’s Yamagata; Germany’s Mannheim; Italy’s Pezzaro.
