Updated: 2017-06-28

The Eighth China International Meeting Industrial Week was held in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, on June 27, as Changsha was enlisted as one of the top meeting destinations in the year 2016-2017.

As the capital of Hunan, Changsha not only leads the economic development of the province, but also attracts conferences with national and international importance owing to its beautiful and well-preserved natural scenery, rich tourism resources and modern meeting facilities, as well as related development in the trade, food and entertainment industries.

Such international conferences as the 15th East Asia Forum, the World Football Forum and the seventh China Satellite Navigation Conference have been and will be held in Changsha.

"Changsha attaches great importance to fulfilling industry needs, and is the first city to establish a management institute and put forward formal regulations to promote the meeting industry in particular," said a worker from the local meeting and exhibition office.

"The related departments will keep improving their environment to cater more conferences and promote the local meeting industry through cooperation and innovation."

The Meeting Industrial Week is sponsored by China Conference & Exhibition magazine, which is aimed to promote meeting industry places and opportunities in China.
