The report on the ranking of China’s happiest cities for the year 2015 has been released on Oct 31, the World Cities Day and Changsha of Central China made into the top 10 list for eight consecutive years.

The election, since its activation in June, collected survey samples from more than 80 million people across the country. Along with Changsha, the cities of Chengdu, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Xi’an, Changchun, Suzhou, Shanghai and Beijing got the honors of “China’s happiest cities in 2015”.

The survey of "happiest cities in China", jointly conducted by Xinhua’s Oriental Outlook and the China Association of Mayors’ Annual Report on Urban Development of China, has so far been held for nine years in a row. It is currently considered China's most influential and credible city investigation and election activity.

The organizing committee formulated the evaluation system by widely absorbing ideas of domestic and foreign experts, which covers 42 indicators in seven aspects – education, medical and health, prices, living environment, social security, public service and cultural life.
