Changsha receives City of Convention & Exhibition in China honor
The 10th China International Event Festival (CIEF 2014) just closed in Haikou, capital of South China’s Hainan province. The city of Changsha stood out from more than 40 cities and won the “Oscar” of China’s exhibition industry, the Golden Dolphin award for City of Convention & Exhibition in China from 2013-2014.
The China International Event Festival was initiated in 2005 and has been held in cities such as Zhengzhou, Changchun, Shenzhen, Changsha, Yiwu, Chengdu, Wuhan and Haikou over the years. CIEF 2014 brought together more than 1,000 exhibition industry professionals nationwide. It also held an award ceremony of the 13th Golden Dolphin award, the most prestigious award in China’s exhibition industry.
In recent years, Changsha’s exhibition industry has seen rapid development, oriented with the principles of professionalization, marketization, standardization, informatization and internationalization. In the first half of 2014, the city organized 94 exhibition projects, attracting a total of 2.15 million visitors. The transaction amount of the expos reached 9.9 billion yuan ($1.6 billion).
