Changsha’s Comprehensive Strength Ranks Seventh among Provincial Capital Cities
Changsha has made great achievements in its economic and social developments during the period of "The Eleventh Five-Year Plan". It was revealed from a research report submitted to the Examination and Appraisal Meeting for the Major Subjects on Changsha's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" held on July 28 that Changsha's comprehensive strength has greatly improved over the period of "The Eleventh Five-Year Plan" and ranked seventh among the provincial capital cities across the country. Xie Jianhui, executive vice mayor of Changsha City, attended the meeting.
By the end of last year, Changsha had been awarded with "China's Ten Major Cities in Happiness", "China's Top Ten Vigorous Cities", "China's Top Ten Innovative Cities", and "China's Top Ten Brand Cities", etc. In addition, the city ranked fourth among the provincial capital cities and sub-provincial cities in the 2009 national urban public civilization index test.
The city has set its overall development orientation for the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan": to build itself into an important economic growth pole in the central region, a demonstration city of the "Two-oriented" Society construction, and an eco-liveable city with increasingly improved internationalization.
