Changsha was included in China’s Top 10 Better Life Cities (2019-2020), according to a ranking list released by the CCTV China’s Economic Life Survey, also known as Everyone’s Voice, Everyone’s Choice, on July 6. This is the second consecutive year for Changsha to be on the list.

The China County-level Economy Research Institute (china-county.org/) released its 19th Report on China County-level Economy and Comprehensive Development on December 16, 2019. Changsha has three counties (county-level cities) ranking among top 20 nationwide – Changsha County ranks 4th; Liuyang ranks 10th; and, Ningxiang ranks 18th. Beyond that, Liling City and Xiangtan County make the list, ranking 46th and 91st respectively.

The 2019 National Quality Engineering Award Summary and Commendation Conference was held at the China National Convention Center on December 8. A total of 14 projects in Changsha won the National Quality Engineering Award, including the Changsha Maglev Express Project, the Nanhu Road Xiangjiang River Tunnel Project, the Changshanyuan Sewage Treatment Plant Reconstruction and Expansion Project Phase II, and the Wanda Plaza in Kaifu District. In particular, Changsha Maglev Express won the National Quality Engineering Gold Award.
Five Changsha Districts Rank Among China's Top 100 Districts
On December 4, CCID Consulting, a leading Chinese think tank, released a report on Chinese districts’ overall competitiveness. It also announced a list of China’s top 100 districts in terms of overall competitiveness. Six districts in Hunan were included, one in Changde and the other five in Changsha: Changde’s Wuling was placed at 31st and Changsha’s Yuhua 17th, Furong 37th, Yuelu 65th, Kaifu 69th, and Tianxin 71st.
