Updated: 2014-04-19

Letter content:

We would like to extend our cordial greetings to the Mayor and his staff. Since coming to Changsha for the first time last November it is very clear to me that significant improvements are being made to the city. I have now visited your city three times in the last six months.

I am the Secretary-General of the Federation of International Employers ( FedEE Global). This was formerly the Federation of European Employers. We are very keen to support Chinese companies to establish international operations by advising on employment law, pay and labour relations. We are setting up an international office in Hong Kong and considering also establishing a representational office in Changsha to cover the whole of China.

If any Changsha based companies would like to have access to our services please get in touch with me. at robin.chater@fedee.com. I would be happy to offer a free trial of our services to companies that are becoming international or extending their international operations.

Dear Robin Chater,

How are you?

Thank you for your letter. We received your letter on May 12 from Changsha Mayor’s Mailbox concerning international operation in Changsha.

After careful consideration, the following is the reply to your letter:
First of all, we would like to extend our gratitude for your concern towards Changsha’s economic development and urban construction. In recent years, Changsha has witnessed fast growth and made remarkable achievements, which to some extent has boosted its international influence. We hope you will continue introducing and promoting more foreign enterprises to invest here, helping the city develop further.

The Federation of International Employers aims to promote the development of the International Labor Organization and defend the interests of employers, to implement international labor and social policies conducive to the survival of enterprises, and to create a favorable atmosphere for enterprise development and job creation.

We expect that the Federation of International Employers will establish its representative office in Changsha, guide the city’s local enterprises to join and help them play a bigger role in the federation’s aim. This move will safeguard the interests of those enterprises investing in Changsha at the international level and facilitate exchange and cooperation between local and foreign enterprises.

The service of establishing representative office is at the Changsha Commerce Bureau at Changsha Administrative Service Center. The International Economic Cooperation Section’s main work is to guide local enterprises to invest in overseas countries, assist international economic cooperation enterprises to obtain operation qualification, help foreign aid projects with overseas engineering contract and train laborers to work abroad. For further information regarding Changsha local companies establishing international operations, please do not hesitate to contact the Section.
