Xie Zilong Photography Museum to open on Sept 16
Xie Zilong Photography Museum, the country's first museum-level art center in Changsha, has competed construction and will be open without an entrance fee to the public on Sept 16.
Covering an area of 10,000 square meters, the art center stands close to Changsha Yanghu Lake Wetland Park and Li Zijian Art Museum, being a new cultural and art landmark building in the capital city of Hunan province.

On its opening day, a visual feast of six themed exhibitions will be offered, with photography works centering on topics of Chinese laborers, craftsmanship, and old impressions of Beijing taken by British photographer Felice Beato, all be on display.
Visits will also be able to get a close-up view of the 55-kilogram and limited-edition of "Genesis", a book of photographs by Sebastiao Salgado, which will be on show in Changsha for the first time.

Named after Xie Zilong, chairman of Hunan Photographers Association and Hunan-based Laobaixing Pharmacy, the main building of Xie Zilong Photography Museum is divided into four floors, combining an exhibition gallery and studios for artists.
It is believed to offer local residents and art lovers across the world a perfect place to appreciate art and culture.
