National model workers adorn Changsha metro

A special metro train featuring the portraits of national model workers set off in Changsha to mark International Labor Day on May 1.


The photos captured by a famous photographer Xie Zilong represent 88 workers who won the National Model Worker award, showcasing the high and vigorous spirit of workers in the modern era.

A total of six Hunan-born model workers, steel worker Liu Zhitang, bus driver Wu Xiaohong, office clerk Liu Xiaoling, rice farmer Yang Yuanzhu, computer operator Yang Fang and gas worker Huang Hailan, boarded the train to take group photos with passengers.

"I feel close to the model workers when I see their portraits in the carriage and I am touched by their positive influence," said passenger Xu Xin.

Representing the beauty of labor, the photos will also be on display at Yingbinlu and Yuanjialing Station on Changsha Metro Line 2 until May 5.
