Changsha Strives to Become National Demonstration Zone for Intellectual Property Rights Protection
A conference on intellectual property rights (IPRs) and the construction of the Party conduct and an honest and clean government was held on March 4. It announced that, Changsha will strive to become one of the first national demonstration zones for IPR protection. The Implementation Plan for Strengthening IPR Protection of Changsha City was announced at the conference. It outlined 13 key tasks in the aspects of strengthening strict protection measures, improving the large-scale protection framework, establishing rapid protection channels, and creating a joint protection environment.
Changsha’s innovation capacity was continuously improved last year. It gained more than 33,000 patents last year. The number of in-force invention patents owned by per 10,000 people was over 40. Nearly 70,000 trademarks were registered.
Changsha government also strengthened comprehensive law enforcement to protect IPRs last year. Twenty special law enforcement actions were carried out, and 289 cases concerning administrative punishment of trademark-related violations handled. The Changsha Intellectual Property Protection Center accepted more than 1,900 patent preexamination cases.
During the epidemic prevention and control period last year, more than 1.9 billion yuan of intellectual property pledge financing was completed to help enterprises resume work and production.
