Liuyang Economic Development Zone Launches Smart Environmental Protection Platform
The Liuyang Economic Development Zone (or High-tech Development Zone) announced on January 5 that its smart environmental protection platform has been officially launched. This marked an important step forward for the zone’s following the road of ecology-first and green development. The platform can monitor and share online real-time data of the entire park’s environment. The big data empowers the zone’s fine environmental supervision and scientific decision-making.
Using the Internet of Things technology, the new platform collects all kinds of data such as water pollution sources at the zone to form “big data” for environmental protection. It establishes an all-directional, multi-level and wide-ranging environmental monitoring network. Apart from conducting online monitoring on the original 22 key pollution sources, the platform has newly added online monitoring of 49 polluting enterprises and 213 video monitoring data. It has connected to 2 sewage treatment plants and 7 automatic air quality monitoring stations at the zone. It has monitored online on 4 key enterprises’ total pollutant emission and 1 enterprise’s pollution control facilities working condition.
Since 2020, the Liuyang Economic Development Zone has focused on pollution prevention and control. It has made great efforts to treat the Laodao River basin and enterprises’ waste gas. The quality of water flowing into sewage treatment plants has maintained stable and reached related standards. The water quality of the Laodao River has remained stable and on a positive track. Remarkable results have been made in treating the Ligeng River and Zhuling River.
