Changsha Initiates All-in-One Card for Transport and Utility Bill Payment
On September 19th, an all-in-one “Xiaoxiang Card” was issued in Changsha. With this card, citizens can not only take bus and subway, but also pay for utility bills, including water, electricity, and gas. Beyond that, the card holders can take bus and subway in nearly 200 Chinese cities involved in the “Transport Union” program.
CPC Changsha Municipal Committee Standing Committee member and Executive Vice Mayor Shu Xinggang, CPC Changsha Municipal Committee Standing Committee member and Vice Mayor Fu Shenghua, and Changsha Municipal People’s Government Deputy Secretaries Lu Xingying and Tu Wenqing attended the issuing ceremony.
Pre-paid service is now available for the card. Later, special cards will be issued for students, the elderly, and the disable. Real-name registration with valid identity document, such as resident ID card, officer certificate, passport, or entry permit, is required to apply for the card.
The Xiaoxiang Card has the same preferential policies as the current bus and subway cards.
Xiaoxiang Card cost: 10 CNY / piece.
Citizens can apply for new cards or make a top-up at any Xiaoxiang Card outlets.
